I served a Mandarin-speaking mission in Houston, Texas in the early 90's. Since then I've studied Chinese, Computer Science, and Linguistics at Brigham Young, Georgetown and Carnegie Mellon universities. I currently work in the field of information extraction, working on ways to extract meaningful information from unstructured text.
