Born and raised in Ogden in the heart of the Mormon Cultural Region, I spent summers in Idaho with my grandparents, working on my Uncle's farm. In 1993, I became a Utah expatriate in Washington state, moving with my family to Redmond, WA, from Kaysville, UT. I was a graduate of Weber State University in 1974 with a BS in Communications, Broadcast Journalism major, and English Literature minor. Needless to say, that qualified me to live at home, and since I was married with one child at the time, that was not an option.
I've since settled into a high tech career, first in semiconductor sales, and now in computer network engineering and sales, a natural progression for a liberal arts major. I's served in a couple of EQ presidencies, as a HP Group Leader, bishop's councilor, bishop, and several turns at YM president. I currently serve on our stake high council, tend to vote democratic, and make bad puns. My wife suffers this somewhat patiently, as do my 5 grown sons, and one daughter. All but the youngest are married, and my wife and I have one grandchild, with another on the way. My wife teaches junior high math and mentors other math teachers in the Lake Washington School District.
My hobbies include reading blogs, hiking, running, basketball (playing & watching), reading science fiction and real life history.
