Bear

  1. to relate or express a personal conviction of the truthfulness of a religious precept or of the Church.
    • We have set aside the rest of the meeting for those who wish to bear their testimonies of this principle.
  2. to hold or have been ordained to a priesthood.
    • He bears the Melchesidek priesthood.

  • This first usage of the word is probably derived from the phrase "to bear witness."
