Melchizedek Priesthood

  1. The higher order of priesthood authority in the L.D.S. Church, encompassing the offices of elder, seventy, high priest, patriarch, and apostle, and focused upon the spiritual things of the gospel. Named for Melchizedek, to whom in the Bible Abraham paid tithing. All worthy adult males hold this priesthood.
